The Thigh Gap...

I'm pretty tired and need to wake up early tomorrow, so I'll just make this short, sweet, and to the point. The thigh gap. Everyone has it (or it seems like everyone does) and who doesn't have it - wants it. You can't even imagine the amount of inner thigh exercises I did to get a thigh gap. But, I hate to break it to you, not everyone can get a thigh gap. If your hips are narrow, there is no way you're going to get one simply because your legs are naturally closer together. However, if you do have wider hips then you most likely are able to get a thigh gap. If that's the case, all you gotta do is do more cardio or pilates and work on your diet :) Easy peasy. Sadly, I have pretty narrow hips, so it's not gonna happen for me, but most people do have wider hips ;)

Update On My Majestic Life: Babies, Halloween, and Movies

Hey there ;) For the past few days I've been really thinking about what to write about in my next post, and to this day I haven't really come up with anything...except this. Partly because I've been watching 4-5 movies a day for the past week. Yes, I have no social life :P

So, in this post, just like the other ones that I did before, I'll just be telling ya'll about what's been happening in ma laif...sometimes including random babble ;)

The month of October has been pretty awesome for me - there were some ups and downs, but all in all I think it's safe to describe October (if I had to describe it in one word) as stoned. Don't get me wrong, I don't do drugs and never will, but for some reason 99% of the time this month I felt drunk or on drugs or something -.- But I liked it, and I think I know why.

Since, probably, the month of November of 2011 I haven't watched one single movie. Literally. Well, unless I went to the movies (which was like, twice in one year). This month I started watching movies again (don't know why) and just caught up on all of the movies I haven't seen yet (eg. Magic Mike, Dear John, Katy Perry The Movie: Part Of Me, 21 Jump Street, Romeo and Juliet, She's The Man, John Tucker Must Die, the list goes on...). Anyways, I think the movies are what made me feel so nice and warm inside ;) I won't be talking much more - just visuals :)

Birthday outfit >.<

Yep... I took a lot of selfies on my birthday -.-

First snow! In the middle of October. Ugh -.-

Watched Dear John 4 times in one day. Also no regrets.
Aaaaaand then this happened. #thanksdearjohn

Current Obsessions: Red and NTC

Hello there! Today I'll be talking about some of my current obsessions, which is something I haven't really done in a while! I know, the topics are pretty random, but they're just something I've been totally obsessing over for the past couple of weeks.

Red. Not the color. The Taylor Swift album. Can you say IN LOVE??? I just got the album on Monday and it's amazing!!! I've heard some negative things about it, but I think it's perfect! By far my favorite album by Taylor! My top favorite songs are "I Knew You Were Trouble" (I've listened to it about 100 times already...kind of obsessed), "Red", and "22". I just love how it has some more country-style songs ("Stay Stay Stay", "Everything Has Changed", "Begin Again", etc.) but also some more pop-like songs, like "I Knew You Were Trouble". Ob-sessed.

NTC NTC (Nike Training Club) is a free app for iPods or iPhones that has pleeeeeeenty of uh-mazing workouts (also bonus ones from professional athletes!) with demonstrations and explanations. It's pretty hard to explain, you really have to see it. All I'm saying is that it's free so there's nothing to lose, but believe me, if you're into working out like I am - you'll love it! I've been using it every single day ;)

Yep

Enjoy :)

What To Do With Your Free Time

Hi there :) Today's post is actually kind of funny and ironic, because I literally have no free time today (and this weekend in general), but when I do have free time these are some things that I like to do if I have 10-20 extra minutes ;)

  1. Workout Now ya'll probably know how obsessed I am with working out, so if I have a couple of extra minutes I jump at the opportunity! I don't usually do anything big...maybe a quick 15 minute workout from my NikeTraining app (NTC) or a couple of squats and lunges.
  2. Take a walk Especially in this amazing fall weather, I love taking walks!!! And since we've moved to our country house out of our apartment now, nature is on my front steps! I LOVE the weather here right now - it's like Texas in the winter-time :) It's supposed to get super duper cold in the next couple of weeks so I'm trying to soak up every second! A 30-40 minute walk is all you need :)
  3. Clean up I'm kind of an organization freak, won't lie, so I pretty much clean all the time. But I do try to tidy up just a bit more when I'm not really doing anything. I kind of tend to even do it on the go (watching Gossip Girl - cleaning up desk, doing homework - folding clothes, etc.). Makes cleaning much more fun and interesting!
  4. Plan your day I am obsessed with planning ahead, and I often find myself just thinking about what I'm going to be doing after this or jotting down my schedule for after-school. Saves you time ;)
  5. Call an old friend I've gone to three different schools so I have a bunch of old friends that I try (and fail) to call and text now and then just to rekindle old memories and find out what's going on in their life :) I'm sure all of you have someone that you haven't talked to in at least a month, so when you find yourself not really doing anything - call them maybe ;)
  6. Check Facebook Since Facebook - at least for me - isn't something I particularly make time for in the day, I just check it when I have a couple of minutes to spare! I'm pretty sure everyone does this, but just in case ;)
  7. Pick out an outfit On weekdays this doesn't really work for me (die school uniform die), but on weekends I definitely do this! I often find myself just browsing tumblr and suddenly BAM I have an amazing outfit idea put together in my head :P
  8. Check Instagram Pretty self-explanatory. Don't have much more to say on this. Just check Instagram >.<
Anyways, hope ya'll had a great weekend :) Enjoy your free time while it lasts ;P

Quick Tip: Bobby Pin

Hey girl hey :) I am so busy studying and doing homework this weekend, so I won't really be typing up a huge and awfully interesting blog post this weekend (happy weekend, by the way), but I still hope ya'll find this at least somewhat helpful.

So I was talking to my Mom the other day while I was pinning my hair back with a bobby pins, and my Mom told me something really interesting...and weird. To make a long story short it turns out bobby pins are made to be pinned in the other way! Not the way we're all used to, which is with the non-rigid side facing down. Turns out, the non-rigid side is supposed to be facing up! WHAT? So I tried it out and...I think my Mom's a magician. It totally works so much better! I changed my habit of pinning bobby pins the "normal" way and now my hair stays were it's supposed to stay and does not budge at all!

Yepppppp, definitely try this trick out and let me know what the results were!

And then I found this picture on tumblr and was like "yep. true dat" ;)

Quick Halloween Costume Ideas/Who I'm Going to Be for Halloween

Hello my little pumpkins! Halloween's coming up and...I have to confess. I actually don't like Halloween all that much. I've never really gone trick or treating, I always have a hard time finding a costume, and frankly, I don't eat candy so I've just never really loved Halloween. But I have a feeling that's about to change. I'm going trick or treating this year and I'm actually pretty excited about dressing up for Halloween is school, too ;) Now, the costumes I put together aren't really scary (actually, not at all scary), but I still like them a ton!

So in this post I've put together 3 outfits that I will actually be wearing and that (I think) are pretty easy to put together!

1. Cowgirl Now, I'm from Austin, so naturally I adore this one. All you need is a plaid or checkered button-up, flared/bootcut jeans, a straw hat, and a pair of booties (preferably cowboy boots) and you're good! For makeup - keep it simple with some mascara and a bold lip ;) Yeehaw!!!

2. Horseback Rider This costume is also very dear to my heart, since, as most of you know I've been doing classic dressage since I was 6 (that's 8 years!) so I already have all of the essential pieces for this costume. For this "costume" you will need is a pair of khaki jeggings, pants, or breeches, a white oxford (button-up), a black blazer, and a pair of equestrian riding boots - it doesn't really matter if they're brown or black. I'd also add a helmet, a pair of riding gloves, and maybe a whip for the complete look. I can't find mine anywhere, so I probably won't be adding it, but if I do - I'll use it. Makeup-wise, I never usually wear any for shows (except maybe mascara), so it doesn't really matter as long as you go for a neutral look :)

3. One Direction (Girl Version) Now, my internet is being really slow right now, so it was taking me a very long time to make an actual collage with 5 outfits in it... So I just took basically the exact outfits I wanted to put together from weheartit. I'm probably going to be Harry and instead of wearing the shorts/skirt I'll just wear pants or jeans. Or maybe not. Don't know yet. But, yeah, hope ya'll are full of ideas now ;)

I'm going to go sleep another sleepless night now (thanks to my little newborn sister) ;) Love ya'll

Liz

Who I'm Subscribed to on YouTube

Okay, I know this is a pretty random blog post to do, but who cares? It might just help some of you who were maybe looking for some good people to watch! Now, I am obsessed with YouTube and have been since 2009. I check YouTube every single day and I'm subbed to about...80 people I think? Not sure.

During the summer (and this happens every year) I got really bored and subscribed to about 20 more people, but as the school year started I just unsubscribed from all of the people whose videos I didn't really watch/enjoy. So I'll just list the people so you can go check 'em out, and I hope ya'll find this somewhat helpful and interesting!

My Morning Routine

Hello-hello! My name is Liz and I will soon be a double baby sister. Yes-yes, you heard me right, I will soon (as in, like, tomorrow) have a second little baby sister. I am very excited, to say the least.

How do you guys feel about nosing into other people's things? Because I love it. No joke, I love looking into other people's bags, agendas, drawers...the list goes on and on. Today, I will be sharing my morning routine with you for exactly that reason. Just like my after-school/afternoon routine I'll just be sharing with ya'll what I do from the moment I wake up to the moment I go out the door in the morning.

5:10-5:15 -> Wake up, stretch, and get out of bed. Yes, I do wake up at 5 AM every morning...and it is only because I live about 2 hours away from school. Sometimes I squeeze a little warm-up "workout" in at this point, but I usually snooze my alarm = no time for squats.

5:15-5:35 -> Shower. Now, when I shower I first get really really hot. I love hot showers. Especially on freezing cold fall/winter mornings. After I'm all nice and cozy in my shower I wash my hair and condition it. On Wednesdays, though, I use the Macadamian Oil Hair Repair mask and just don't use normal conditioner. I wash my hair every other day, and on the mornings that I don't wash my hair - I shave. And when I don't shave - I wash my hair. After all that jazz is done I scrub the heck off my skin with a loofa and some shower gel and I'M DONE.

5:35-6:00 -> Eat breakfast. I'm sure you all well know of my love for breakfasts. I LOVE THEM! Hands down my favorite meal of the day... Ahhhh I wish I could have breakfast for every meal! I start by making some coffee and while I'm waiting for it to brew - I make breakfast. If I have no time to eat I'll just grab a banana and a slice of whole wheat dried fruit & nut bread. If I'm on time I'll just get some Greek yogurt, home made granola, and some berries (usually blueberries and sometimes raspberries). If I have some extra time, though, I'll make myself some peanut butter oatmeal (ya'll want a recipe??? ;D) or a sunny-side-up egg.

6:00-6:07 -> Get dressed. Getting dressed usually doesn't take that much time, only because I have a school uniform that I usually lay out the night before. But sometimes I'm in a bad mood ( = everything looks horrible on me) and I'll change my outfit five times before I change back to the first one again.

6:07-6:15 -> Makeup. I very rarely have time for makeup in the mornings, so I usually just do it in the car, but when I do have time I just stick with something simple and classy. Usually that means a champagne eyeshadow on the lid with a matte brown in the crease, some tinted moisturizer and concealer, and finally, some bright lipstick (usually berry red, fuchsia...or just lipbalm). Oh, and I always finish off with some Nars "Laguna"!!!

6:15-6:20 -> Out the door!! I hate this part of the morning. I pack my bag, remember things that I forgot to take/do, pour myself some coffee (I like mine 70% milk and 30% dark dark coffee), grab some fruit & nut bread, through on my coat and head out the door!

And that's basically it ;) Hope ya'll enjoyed, and stay posted for an update on ma laiffffff :D

How To: Boost Your Metabolism

I am so excited right now, you don't even know. It's my birthday tomorrow and someone is going to have a blast at her Sunday birthday brunch tomorrow!

But, going back to the point of today's post. Ways to boost your metabolism. Now, for those of you who have a super-duper fast metabolism and can eat anything you want anytime you want...I hate you. No, but seriously, us girls who have a slow metabolism have it so much harder than ya'll. So, I've been doing quite a bit of research on the topic of metabolism lately and have found a few ways that personally work for me and that will probably work for you that will help boost your metabolism.

1) RISE AND SHINE What do you do the second when you wake up? Stretch? Go to the bathroom? Make coffee? Well, what you should really do is exercise. Now, I'm not saying that you should wake up at 5 AM every morning to go on a 40-minute run or something ridiculous like that. What I want you to do is wake up, stretch quickly, and do a very brief and quick 5-10 minute workout (some squats, push-ups, jumping jacks - nothing fancy). Working out in the morning will help you boost your metabolism and make you feel better overall!

2) CUP O' COFFEE I know some say that coffee is bad for you, and I know that some don't like coffee... But if you do like coffee - one cup in the morning won't hurt you! In fact, your health will benefit from it! Coffee has a lot of anti-oxidants and it boosts your metabolism, not to mention wakes you up for school. But coffee does make you dehydrated, so make sure that you drink plenty of water!

3) DRINK UP Just as I mentioned above - water is very important for you and your body. I try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (on weekends I drink about 11-12). Water flows throw your system, flushing everything out and boosting your metabolism. Yay!

4) START IT RIGHT Eat a healthy breakfast. I cannot stress enough about how important this is! I actually wrote a post some time ago about quick and easy (and healthy) breakfast ideas, so I won't talk much about that here... But the point is, I love breakfasts and you should too! - it helps you boost your metabolism (DUH) and makes you less hungry later on!

Yep, so that's all for tonight, hope ya'll enjoyed! TALK TO YOU WHEN I'M 14 ;)

xoxo,
Liz

P.S. Also, the picture above shows some foods that help boost your metabolism! ;)

DIY: Body Scrubs

Yay for *bonus jonas* random blogging days! Today I come with you bearing a magical gift of a do-it-yourself (DIY) body scrub! A couple of posts ago I mentioned using my Lush bar body scrub and a friend (hi Anya :P) asked me if there were any other good body scrubs that she could use. So instead of ya'll going out and actually buying one I thought it would be a fun idea to share my favorite natural DIY body scrub that I use on occasion.

I'm actually going to be sharing two different body scrub recipes, but feel free to use any kind you want!

For the first DIY body scrub all you'll need is...ground coffee. Now I know this sounds weird, but if you have a french coffee press or a coffee machine that you can take the ground coffee beans out (after they've been used) then this one is for you! If you don't you can just try the next body scrub recipe! Anyways, all you have to do is save the used coffee beans from 1-2 uses and just rub them on your body in the shower. Easy peasy! But, don't forget to put a net or something over the drain so the coffee doesn't clog it. I think I'll be using this one over the next recipe much more this time of the year because it just makes me feel so warm and cozy!.. In the shower... I know.

The second DIY body scrub only requires two ingredients. Sugar and some lemon juice. Just take 1-3 tablespoons of sugar and squeeze some lemon juice in...and mix! So there you have it - a refreshing and soothing body scrub that will REVEAL YOUR LOVELY SKIN. Sorry I just got kind of hyper all of the sudden. Yep, that's it. Oh, same goes for this one, don't forget to use a net over the drain!

Love ya ;)

Liz

OOTD: Pearls, Leopard, and Teal

Why hello there ;) Did you miss me? Because I (yet again) missed my Wednesday blog post... I forgot. Again. So I'll just type up a quick little post today to make up for the one that I missed yesterday! And this one is one that I haven't done in the longest time. Yes, it's an outfit of the day post. I would do these every day if I could, but I wear a school uniform, so on weekdays I wear the same thing, and on weekends I wear polos and breeches for the first half of the day, and workout clothes for the rest of the day... So whenever I go out I always get so excited to actually put together an outfit! So, of course, I thought this was the perfect reason to make an OOTD post.

The reason I actually got dressed today is because we have Thursday and Friday off this week in school, so I went to a check-up at the dentist's office and hop into the school that I used to go to! Starting from the top and going down, I'm just wearing my hair natural (don't judge, the crazy amount of weird volume came from me taking a two-hour nap in the car :P), no makeup (woke up too late), and my glasses. Next, I'm wearing my Mom's set of pearls (and just in case you were wondering I'm wearing my every day pearl earrings, too), and a Tommy Hilfiger cotton "jean" button-up paired with a leopard print belt from H&M (not sure when I got it). I'm wearing my Donna Karan vest on the top, and plain black leggings from Target on the bottom. The little purse/clutch thing I got from Nordstrom rack about two or three years ago, and the rain boots are my Hunter "Steel Blue" rain boots.

Yeppppppp, hope you guys enjoyed! I'll probably be posting tomorrow, too, because I'm just chillin' at home, so check up on Friday to see a fun DIY (hopefully)!

Liz
